South Ostrobothnian thematic programmes describe the foci of the development of the region during the EU Structural Fund period 2001–2006. One of the key areas is the enlargement of research and the promotion of innovation. The Epanet network is the key element of the Research and Innovation Programme.
The programme has been updated for years 2007-2013. The Research and Innovation Programme for University Network Epanet in South Ostrobothnia for years 2007–2013 was approved by the Regional Management Committee in South Ostrobothnia on 7th March 2008. The Programme was published in Finnish in March 2008.
